The Shepherd, The Wolf or The Sheep?

"The shepherd drives the wolf from the sheep's throat, for which the sheep thanks the shepherd as his liberator, while the wolf denounces him for the same act, as the destroyer of liberty. Plainly the sheep and the wolf are not agreed upon a definition of the word liberty; and precisely the same difference prevails today among human creatures." - Abraham Lincoln.

I really like this story.

Everyone has their views on politics, and every politician have their views of the world.
Everyone has a different take on life, and every life a different path.
So, Are we Wolves? Sheeps? or Sheperds?

We definitely don't agree with each other on many things, not just in politics, but in work, amongst friends, within the family, with the salesman...what have you? Even your dog may not agree with you sometimes.

What can we do?
From my limited experience...we should...
1) Stay positive. Optimism can be learned, and it keeps your energy level higher.

2) Be Objective. It keeps your mind clear.

3) Don't take the disagreements/indifferences personally. Everyone has a right to their views, including your own.

4) Always keep an open mind. But it doesn't mean accepting everything that people say.

On a side note, Are the Americans (more specifically, the Bush administration) truly the Shepherd of world peace and human rights? or are they just Wolves going around, telling people that they should be liberalised? Will Obama make any difference?

"I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace." -George W. Bush, Washington, D.C. June 18, 2002

Obama had his own views...

"I don't oppose all wars. What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war." - Barack Obama, In 2002, speech against Iraq War.

So will we see a difference? Time will tell, though, statistically, Democrats are less likely to go to war...

Like what John F. Kennedy said, "The wave of the future is not the conquest of the world by a single dogmatic creed but the liberation of the diverse energies of free nations and free men."

Bush obviously took it to a personal level...

"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully." - in Saginaw, Mich., Sept. 29, 2000

But I think what he's really trying to say here is - Fish are good at heart too...there are many fishes that we need to liberate...But we will liberate only those fishes we think need liberating; like if they have oil for us to liberate...We'll bring peace to these fishes!... of coz we can coexist peacefully!... As long as they let us eat them.

There are many Bushes out there...
